HHG Theatre’s Next Show: This Stays in the Room

Anyone familiar with our mandate might recognize that one of our pillars is to create theatre that “reveals the vulnerable heart”. Our next production of This Stays in the Room is going to do exactly that.

This new collective creation promises to be one the bravest and most intimate pieces that we’ve done yet, in a novel setting that promises our audience a unique and memorable experience. This Stays in the Room is an exploration of the nature of shame and forgiveness in the human experience, as told through the lived-experiences of the various artists that form the creative team.

And what a team of artists – each of whom has shared in the building and devising of this remarkable piece over the last several years.

This Stays in the Room is being directed by Mindy Parfitt, and will feature a cast including Alexa Devine, Allan Morgan, Manami Hara and Rob Olguin. Heidi Taylor dramaturged the project, with the support of PTC. Our design team is made up of Andreas Kahre (set & lights), Noah Drew (sound & composing), Cande Andrade (video) with costuming support from Barb Clayden. Stage managent by Lois Dawson and production management / technical direction by Jessica Howell.

This Stays in the Room performs March 20 – 30 (including several 10pm shows) at Gallery Gachet, a Downtown Eastside art gallery.

Ticket and show schedule information coming soon. We look forward to seeing you there.
