DAISY Research: Political Ads for the Ages.

Research for the upcoming DAISY project (the newst play by HHG co-AD Sean Devine) is moving along. Lots of reading. Lots of archival viewing. DAISY is about the television political advertising campaign of the 1964 U.S. Presidential election; a campaign which forever changed the tone of political communications. Check out this amazing political ad, created by DDB for the Democrats. Called “Confessions of a Republican”, this scripted ad features an actor portraying a Republican voter who is so afraid of what Republican nominee Barry Goldwater might do that he has decided to vote against his own Party. Provocative, manipulative stuff, and brilliant.
